psychAmerica draws on several years’ experience coordinating a youth counseling service in London back in the early 2000s. This experience informs our understanding of the issues young people face today, as well as the dynamics of working with those of an age who face their own unique challenges.
psychAmerica acknowledges that differing generations face different challenges in lives that are rooted in varying historical contexts. Meaning across these contexts can seem almost incompatible, such that psychAmerica works to articulate the different understandings by which young people navigate their emerging experiences.
Loosening and broadening such meaning and understanding frees up possibilities and aspirations by which young people may find their own unique pursuit of happiness.
